Description: Come and hear all about a project to revitalise a section of the River Wandle at Goat Bridge. Hear how lowering a weir and putting in a series of structures such as rock ramps and bed check weirs will improve the river at this site in Sutton.

Talk to experts from Thames Water, project managers Mott MacDonald, the Environment Agency, The London Borough of Sutton and the South East Rivers Trust about the importance of the work and how it will help the Wandle, a precious chalk stream.

Learn how the project will improve the river and help wildlife flourish. As well as hearing and seeing information about the project at the Wandle Valley Community Centre, Mitcham, informal tours of the weir and stretch of river will be run at 4pm, 5pm and 6pm.

What to bring: This is indoors, but sturdy shoes are advised if you wish to go on one of the hourly tours, plus suitable clothing for the weather. Gather 10 minutes before each tour. No need to book.
