Loddon Rivers Week: Bassetts Mead gravel seeding

September 21 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm

Free
Bassetts Mead gravel

Volunteering is a great way to connect with and care for your local river, while enjoying the outdoors with others.

During the annual Loddon Rivers Week we have a series of events open to the public to make a real difference to large areas of this catchment which stretches across Berkshire, Hampshire and Surrey.

Activity description: Come and help us put gravel into the River Whitewater to create spawning habitat for fish! Activities will include shovelling gravel into wheelbarrows and raking it into the river. This is a physical activity that involves working in the river.

Meeting point: Reed Warbler Car Park, just off Doctor’s Acre, near Bassetts Mead Country Park, London Road, Hook, RG27 9EH at grid reference SU 73586 54558. What3Words: anchorman.bounding.offerings.

What to bring: wellies, gardening gloves (they will get wet so you may want to avoid expensive leather ones), hand sanitiser, and any other food or water you may want for the day.

BOOKING ESSENTIAL – please sign up by clicking ‘going’ and completing the form below to secure your spot. If the event is already fully booked, then please sign up to the waiting list and we’ll be in touch if a space becomes available (please note, confirmation email may go to junk mail).
