The South East Rivers Trust worked in partnership with the London Borough of Sutton to deliver the SuDS in Sutton’s Schools project. The aim of the project was to reduce flood risk in Hackbridge by installing sustainable drainage systems (SuDS), primarily on school sites, to store runoff and slow the flow of rain to the drain.
The role of the South East Rivers Trust was:
- To facilitate the wider project by adding value for schools and generating support for SuDS.
- To design and install features to contribute to the flood relief target.
- To establish an evidence base for the implementation of SuDS more widely.
A range of activities were carried out and these were documented in the following reports in order to inform and guide future SuDS projects.
