Jonathan Dean

Jonathan Dean

Jonathan plays a central role in developing and delivering the Trust’s education strategy and oversees our formal education work, extending across all our catchments. This includes working internally and with external partners to identify and develop education projects that support our work and raise awareness and understanding of our rivers to young people in schools, colleges, universities or home education settings.

Jonathan has more than 10 years’ experience in outdoor education, most recently at the South Downs National Park Authority, including a one-year appointment as the lead officer for learning and engagement across all 15 UK National Parks. He has also worked for grassroots community organisations, delivering environmental and community projects in central London.

A keen cyclist, Jonathan has a very happy childhood memory of trying to cross the River Darent on his bike using the ford at Eynsford, which resulted in very wet feet and a soggy ride home!
