Niki Karagkouni

Spatial analysis is the key to the work of the Trust. Niki’s role is to use data and evidence in an innovative way to help us understand the environment and improve the state of our rivers. It will also improve our engagement with local communities, helping us better communicate the health of our rivers and habitats in a more visually engaging way.

Niki has studied a BSc in Geoinformatics and Topography in Greece and an MSc in Environmental Sciences in The Netherlands. Nik has joined us from the Suffolk County Council where she worked as a Definitive Map Officer keeping the Definitive Map of the Rights of Way in Suffolk up to date according to all the legal actions and modifications taking place within the county.

Prior to SERT, Niki was working as a researcher in environmental mapping on both marine and terrestrial conservation projects in Greece, Netherlands, Italy, Colombia, UK, Spain and Croatia, monitoring animal populations in the wild and collaborating with local communities for the protection of the environment.
